The Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra transports students back a century and more to experience the movies and musical fun of the early 20th century. These highly entertaining educational programs teach musical concepts, the role of sound with image and highlight the contributions of African American musicians and prominent American composers through their spirited and historically informed performances. Programs offered include condensed versions of PRSO’s concert and film programming as well as the signature Movies and Music program for Young Audiences. Guaranteed to delight all grade levels, customized for each venue and available for either in-school programming or in your building. Residencies and master classes are also available.
